There are certain things that you don’t get to see everyday, but Pakistanis are known to surprise us with their habits. However, with Eid-Ul-Azha right around the corner and everyone is busy getting their choice of animals to sacrifice. The excitement all around can be seen everyone amongst every age group. That’s just how special Eid-Ul-Azha is for those especially residing in Pakistan where you can get your own animal and take care of it.
On the other hand, people are also getting married and wrapping up their events before Eid. When we talk about weddings and Eid, here’s a story that was shared recently. A couple from Gujranwala, Shakeel Ahmed, and Sonia, recently got married and on their way back home from the ceremony, Sonia, his wife, demanded a goat of her choice for Eid-Ul-Azha as a‘mun dikhayi’ – (a post-wedding ritual which takes place on the same night in which the groom and his family gifts something to the bride as a token of welcoming her to the family. The gifts can vary from cash, gold, properties and what not). Yes, a GOAT. The groom, Shakeel, agreed and made a stop over at a Mandi, near their house to fulfill his wife’s wish.
Not just that, but their trip was recorded for everyone to see and went viral on social media. For many Pakistanis, this news for pretty unusual and probably the first time a bride has demanded such a thing on the wedding night.
