With the US and Taliban signing a peace deal, Pakistan commends them both on taking forward the step in eradicating war and promoting peace globally.

The peace deal will be finalized this month on the 29th of February, with the influence of representatives of various countries.

The US-Taliban Talks!

In an attempt to stop the war from completely tearing down Afghanistan, the US, and the Taliban have promulgated to finally establish peace talks. The development between the two sides will be in the form of separate statements, to the media.

After decades of conflict, we have come to an understanding with the Taliban on a significant reduction in violence across Afghanistan. This is an important step on a long road to peace. Moreover, I call on all Afghans to seize this opportunity,” tweeted US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The agenda behind this idea is to ensure that no terrorist group will ever use Afghan soil to initiate any terror attack on the US.

However, the focus on negotiations between Afghanistan and America will be amended sooner. Nonetheless, in order to cease fire, and build a future political roadmap for Afghanistan, Mike said: “The only way to achieve sustainable peace in Afghanistan is for Afghans to come together. And agree on the way forward; Challenges remain, however, the progress made in Doha provides hope and represents a real opportunity. The United States calls on all Afghans to seize this moment.

Besides that, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also shed light on the matter. Zahid replied: “The two sides would also lay the groundwork for peace across the country. Nonetheless, with the withdrawal of all foreign forces and not allowing the land of Afghanistan to be used against the security of others. Consequently, our people can live a peaceful and prosperous life under the shade of an Islamic system, Allah willing.”

Pakistan’s Influence On The Matter!

Without a doubt, Pakistan has previously supported direct negotiations between the U.S. and the Taliban. Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui addressed the matter saying: “We look forward to the signing of the agreement on 29 February 2020. Also, the signing of the U.S.-Taliban agreement will pave the way for the next step of intra-Afghan negotiations.

With that, she is hopeful that, there will be peace and stability in Afghanistan. She also highlighted that this peace treaty will create peaceful democratic relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan. On the other hand, she encourages other international nations to come forth and witness the deal. Especially, when the Afghan refugees are allowed to return to their homeland in Afghanistan with pride and honor.

Last but not least, both sides have signed a seven-day agreement as a pre-condition as an attempt to curb violence.
