Dear American Clothing Lines, Stop Stealing From Pakistani Culture

Well, it’s happened again.

Just like Peshawari Chappal scandal from a few years ago, another famous foreign franchise has used traditional Pakistani clothing as inspiration launch their own fashion line.

Well, they call it inspiration. To be more accurate, it’s cultural appropriation. What comes to mind when you hear the word Ajrak? Something along the lines of this, I’m guessing:

 From being given to women who deserved honor and respect to being worn as swimsuits and summer dresses by supermodels. I guess it’s only cultural appropriation when someone that’s not American does it, right?
