Well, it’s happened again.
Just like Peshawari Chappal scandal from a few years ago, another famous foreign franchise has used traditional Pakistani clothing as inspiration launch their own fashion line.
Well, they call it inspiration. To be more accurate, it’s cultural appropriation. What comes to mind when you hear the word Ajrak? Something along the lines of this, I’m guessing:

Well, inspiration struck Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters in quite a different way. This is what they came up with by stealing from our culture:
Outrageous? Not nearly as much as these:
From being given to women who deserved honor and respect to being worn as swimsuits and summer dresses by supermodels. I guess it’s only cultural appropriation when someone that’s not American does it, right?
