Google has finally released Global Search Trends for the Year 2022. The list provided an overview of the year’s most significant trends in search on the popular search engine. Google has listed the top ten searched items across categories, including persons, films, and news events, among others.

Several Indian and Pakistani songs made it to the top of the list of top songs. Pasoori, a viral Coke Studio hit by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, has surpassed BTS’ Butter as the most Googled song in the Hum to Search category this year. Sethi and Coke Studio’s producer, Xulfi, former EP frontman, expressed gratitude on social media.

Recently Arijit sang Coke Studio 14’s famous track “Pasoori” which made the internet go crazy and netizens react on at.

The Waqt Crooner also mentioned how the song beat BTS’s single “It’s surreal to think that BTS is second on the list. It’s a musical act we looked into before the season began. Imagine Dragons, one of my favourite bands, is also on the list. Simply fantastic. Team, congratulations.”

The 14th instalment of Coke Studio has received worldwide acclaim for its innovative twist on the popular show. This year, while Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (Xulfi) reigned supreme, one song genuinely exceeded all expectations. Pasoori by Sethi and Gill crossed borders and won the hearts of fans all around the world.

The Pasoori hitmaker announced the big news on Instagram in October. “Proud to be included in the 2022 TIME100 Next list — and with a write-up from expert Amitav Ghosh,” he wrote on Instagram, accompanied screenshots of the write-up. “[In] this old-world portrait of me by Umar Nadeeem, I am wearing ZN ALI and gazing pyaar-se [lovingly] at the pre-colonial past,” the singer continued.
