The moon for holy month ramadan had been sighted, and the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee declared on Wednesday that the first day of the holy month would fall on Thursday (tomorrow).
Moon Sighted For Ramadan:
At a news conference in Peshawar, the statement was made by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the head of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee.
The committee convened in the Eidgah in Peshawar. In their respective headquarters, the zonal and district Ruet-i-Hilal committees also convened separate meetings.
Ramazan will start on Friday since the moon had not been seen in neighbouring India, according to a report from Hindustan Times
Because the moon was not seen on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia declared that Ramadan will begin on Thursday. The first day of Ramazan was officially declared to be Thursday by the Crescent Sighting Committee in the neighbouring country of Qatar.
