Yesterday Netflix released one of the most anticipating and intense documentary series. “House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths” was an event held in 2018 that shook India from its core.
It’s a three-part docuseries focused on the incident took in Delhi where 11 members of a family hanged themselves in such a mysterious way that even investigators couldn’t find out the reason behind it.
The show is directed by Leena Yadav and Anubhav Chopra. And one of the interesting things is the docuseries score composed and produced by A.R. Rahman and Qutub-E-Kripa.
It’s something that no one realized Netflix or Indian cinema would ever make it. It’s intense and breathtaking the more you spend time in it.

Netflix did justice to the show and caters to the horrifying show sociological and psychological aspects of a case that made it to the headline of every Indian news outlet.
It was a disastrous event, 11 members were hanged in a living, which also includes three generations as well.

July 1, 2018, at 7:15 a.m one of the neighbors Gurcharan Singh discovered the bodies hanging on the ceiling as he went to the house to know about his morning walk partner Lalit Chundawat who didn’t show up.
The moment he entered the room he saw 10 family members hanging and one older one was strangled to death. Gurcharan called the neighbors and police immediately.
As per the sources, it looks like the spiritual ritual went wrong and such a thing happened.
In the show, even the investigators also told that when they reached the crime scene looking up at the ceiling shook us and we couldn’t react. Even the closest neighbors couldn’t believe that such a thing happened to a great family who has always been happy and overnight a big tragedy happened.
During the investigation police found some notes, “which point towards observance of some definite spiritual/mystical practices by the whole family”.
It’s like once you jump on it, you cannot go back until you find out the reality behind the incident. No doubt, it’s the real rollercoaster ride with heavy emotions.

This case is one of a kind that brings to the surface some unfathomable truths of society, truths that need to be confronted and discussed.
Exploring the case threw up many pertinent questions and revelations about the times that we live in. I look forward to presenting through this docu-series a case that is much more about ‘us’ (society) than ‘them’ (the family).”
Netflix is known for creating such amazing crime thrills and this time they did it again. House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths is a must-show and shouldn’t miss it at all.
