Shared below is the list of things that we do on daily basis but we don’t realize that some of them are major sins. It might be Shaitaan’s trap to ensure that you don’t enter Jannah.
1. Swearing And Calling With Nicknames

Using curse words for someone who you might dislike is wrong. As Islam teaches us tolerance and patience, the teachings of Holy Prophet (saw) tell us that:
“Reviling a Muslim is Fusuq (disobedience of Allah) and killing him is (tantamount to) disbelief.” [Bukhari & Muslim]
And the Quran instructs not to use foul language against disbelievers also:
“O believers! Do not insult what they invoke besides Allah or they will insult Allah spitefully out of ignorance. This is how We have made each people’s deeds appealing to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do”.[Surah Al An’am, Verse 108 ] [6:108] [Dr.Mustafa Khatab translation]
We are not only going against the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, but we are also falling into the trap of Shaitan by not following the path of Islam. Nicknames which are offensive to people e.g. dheeley, mota, kaala or something similar are not allowed to be used, as mentioned in Quran [Surat Al-Ĥujurāt – 11]:
“O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them, nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers.”
2. Watching Movies Illegally

Downloading movies from Torrent or our internet provider’s personal servers is a sin. How? Let’s start with movies on computer/the internet. The movies that we download from Torrent or from our servers are illegal. Many people are not aware of this. They earn money from the advertisement or by installing adware but they don’t pay any money to the content producers.
I don’t know about other service providers but I have used Fariya and Connect, they both give their personal server address which is known as “Sharing” in which they upload movies, music shows. Pakistan loses around $45.0 million due to piracy according to Wikipedia.
Piracy means theft and it is the basic law that we all know. Theft and stealing are Haraam and we are stealing someone’s work which they put so much efforts in. There are some legal sources as well from where you can watch movies on the internet like Youtube, they are official channels of record holders, publishers and of TV channels where they upload their movies and TV shows.
3. Downloading songs

Music is Haraam in Islam, even if you are listening to music, then please beware it is a devil’s trap. Songs.pk is one of the sites that every Pakistani and Indian knows. But they don’t know that there are two sins you are committing just by downloading a song. One, you are going against Quran and Sunnah. Two, you are stealing which I previously mentioned is Haraam.
4. Hacks and modified apps

When you are playing a game downloaded from Google App store and it’s difficult to pass some level even after using the energy boosters, there is some code through which you could get unlimited energy boosters which are wrong!
The game developers spend their unlimited nights and days to design these games. For publishing a game on Google Play Store, you need around 25$ but what people are doing? Finding illegal ways for earning the energy boosters.
Remember, Shaitan said to Allah:
Because You have sent me astray, surely, I will lie in wait against them (on) Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them thankful ones. [7:19-17.]
4. When You are playing Counter-Strike And Someone gives you headshot:

We all know how it feels. But remember, by using Wallhacks, Aimbots and anything won’t make your game better; it would make it worse. The servers nowadays have Anti-Hack system so you better beware that for revenge, you are going to risk your game. Most of the people don’t know about hacks that these so called free hacks also have a free virus with them which would probably infect your computer. So you are not only risking your game, but also your iman [faith]
5. Illegal software and games

In Karachi, we have CD shops giving us software worth of hundreds of dollars for free. Whenever our PC isn’t working properly, we go to a CD shop, buy a pirated copy of Windows for less than Rs.100 and install the windows. So easy na?
What’s The Alternative?
There are so many web apps also where you can easily do your work. You just need to Google like for editing you can try Befunky or any other online editor. For Powerpoint presentation, you can go to Google Slides which have all the basic function or you can go to Google and simply write Photoshop Alternative and hundreds of alternatives and results will popup. Buy games from Steam at sales – they are pretty cheap or contact a local steam dealer through Facebook.
Allah (SWT) gave us this beautiful life, don’t let Shaitan win. Remember, everything in this world is a test for us and the result will be hereafter. Allah gave you life, use it for good purpose. Learn something, spread knowledge, have patience and be good to your parents.
