Realme 6i Review

Just after the launch of Realme 5i a few months back, it is time for the new budget-friendly Realme 6i of the 6-series. It is cheaper than the outstanding Realme 6 and does offer a reasonable upgrade in terms of the specifications as compared to 5i.

So how the new Realme 6i differentiates itself from the other amazing Realme options available out there? Let us find out in our review of this phone.

Realme 6i Unboxing and Review

Design & Display

The design features of Realme 6i include 6.5-inch HD+ touchscreen, 1600 x 720 pixels resolution with an aspect ratio of 20:9 as mini-drop display touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection.

Parallel Strip showing patterns on the rear has a quad-camera fixed positioned on top-middle and a fingerprint sensor. While the front screen is glaring and free of bezels or wide chins. For the selfie camera, it has a waterdrop notch on top. The proportions of the realme 6i body are 164.4 x 75.x 9.0mm and it weighs as 195g.

As soon as we turn on the phone, the vibrant and sharp display immediately catches the attention. It maintains a well-balanced and eye-friendly screen resolution and display features which is neither sore for the eyes, nor too soft to be dim.

Processor & Memory

Realme 6i is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC in pair with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. The Operating System runs on Android 10. With a 64/128GB Built-in, 3/4GB RAM, there is also a memory card slot available to expand realme 6i’s storage capacity to up to 256 GB. The phone is compatible with Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD). You can now enjoy multiple applications, gaming, photography and varied utilization of realme 6i at a steady pace and with adequately sufficient memory storage.

Camera (DON’T REPHRASE IT)

The realme 6i has got a quad-camera setup on the rear. The setup includes

  • 48MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture,
  • LED flash,
  • PDAF,
  • 1080p 30fps video recording,
  • 8MP 119° ultra-wide sensor,
  • 2MP 4cm macro and 2MP B&W depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

The 16MP front-facing camera specifications follow f/2.0 aperture, 1μm pixel size housed inside a waterdrop notch.

The superb camera features of the Realme 6i allows you to fully experiment with your photography skills and capture lifelong memories capturing as images to enjoy the slice of life to the maximum.

Battery

Realme 6i has a super-fast charging capacity of 18W which is supported by a 5000mAh battery.

Final Verdict

Overall, the phone aims to provide decent overall performance and user experience at a great price point. Though, in a competitive marketplace with a variety of affordable phones already existing, specially ruled by many of the other Realme phones, it struggles to emerge as a winner.

In my opinion, even though, Realme has always been a youth-centric brand, 6i may have a greater pull towards older generations in the UK. The reasons include cheaper price with a big display screen and good battery life without the need to charge the phone too frequently.
