In an extremely upsetting turn of events, a father who recently recorded a YouTube video with his children trying to distract them from the ongoing threat of bombs falling in Gaza was reportedly martyred just two days later.

A video uploaded to his daughters’ YouTube channel on May 12 features Ahmad Mansi heading to the market to buy toys for his three kids. He talked about how they are scared and sad because of the shelling happening around their home.

“Hala is sad because of the shellings, so today I’m trying to please her,” reads an English translation of Mansi’s on-screen conversation with his youngest daughter. “Today I’m going to buy you some toys, God willing.”

After Mansi returns home, the footage of his children playing with their new toys looks like a random home video, until the sound of an airplane flying overhead sends the girls running for shelter.

“I hear a sound of an airplane. Don’t worry OK?” Mansi says. “Keep playing.” As the horrifying sound of the jet grows, the children hide in the corners of the couch. They crouch in fear as their father tries to reassure them. The video ends with the devoted dad comforting his girls. “We can’t continue,” Mansi ends the video.

Taking to Twitter, a user shared that both Mansi and his brother Yousef were killed in an Israeli airstrike just two days after the video was posted. According to reports, a pair of brothers with the same names were killed on May 14.

Social media users from all around the world shared words of solidarity and prayers for the kids and their father. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Once again, Palestine is bathed in blood, its people left to mourn and carry the coffins of their loved ones. While some would classify the current violence as a ‘conflict’ between Israelis and Palestinians, it is instead a one-sided assault on the Palestinian people by Tel Aviv’s war machine.

At least 215 Palestinians injured in the attack at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound, including 153 who were hospitalized. Meanwhile, Israelis dance, sing, cheer, and celebrate all while Israel brutalizes thousands of Palestinians. At least 219 Palestinians have been killed in airstrikes, including 63 children and 36 women, with 1,530 people wounded.
