Another day, another child abuse case. Despite the government’s efforts to minimize such incidents, the monstrosity persists. A 12-year old boy has been severely injured in a firing incident when he was shot as 3 men abuse him in Muzaffargarh. Allegedly, as a result of three assaulters’ failed attempt to rape him due to his resistance, they shot him.

Subsequent to this, a case registered in Baet Mir Hazar police station, Muzaffargarh. Moreover, the teenage boy was shifted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan. According to the details, the doctors claimed his condition to be critical.

On the complaint of the boy’s father, Mir Hazar police have registered a case against three people and arrested the main accused.

Ehsan Ahmad, son of Qamaruddin Qureshi, a resident of Mouza Bellewala, filed a written application at Baet Mir Hazar police station. He stated the accused asked his 12-year-old son, Zain Qureshi to go with them to eat fish.

In addition to this, the complainant said that the accused, Omar Korai, Shafat Jhabil, and Meena Korai, took the boy to the forest of Landi Pitafi. They tried to take advantage of the boy, abuse and rape him, on resistance, the accused shot his son at a sensitive part of his body and fled the scene in Muzaffargarh.

At first, the police shifted the injured boy to Jatoi Hospital for treatment. However, later moved him to Nishtar Hospital in Multan due to his critical condition. Fortunately, the Mir Hazar police immediately arrested the main accused, Meena Korai.

According to Muzaffargarh police spokesperson Wasim Khan Gopang, on the instructions of District Police Officer Nadeem Abbas, a committee has been formed. The committee headed by the DSP of the Jatoi area is to arrest the other accused. Moreover, he said that as per instructions the police team is to arrest the accused within 48 hours.

Later, the police also arrested the accused, Shafat Jhabil during raids at various places to arrest the third accused.

A team of the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CP&WB) on Monday visited the injured teenage boy in Muzaffargarh. Moreover, the officials also met the boy’s family, including his mother and brother. Reportedly, the CP&WB Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said that her team assured the child and his family of all possible cooperation.
