According to Sharma, he followed all safety measures. However, he deleted the video after immense social media backlash. Police say they have arrested Sharma after receiving a complaint against him from animal welfare organization, People for Animals (PFA).

In the video clip, the YouTuber stands on top of a car and his dog can be seen strapped with helium balloons. He then lets go of the dog at one point and the pet starts floating in the air briefly as it goes up to the second floor of a building. Someone appears to catch the dog as it floats up. Cheers can also be heard in the video as the person appears to be saving the dog.

Sharma later uploaded an apology and explained that he took “all safety measures” while making the video with his dog, Dollar. In the video, he says that he was influenced by other YouTubers he had watched doing similar stunts. In addition to this, he asked viewers to not be influenced by his actions in the video. He goes on to say that he is a pet lover and treats Dollar like a child.

Hundreds of animals worldwide are tortured, abused, and have their basic needs neglected. They are either being forced to fight or being skinned alive just because skinning them while their hearts are pumping, raises the quality of their fur, leather, or any other skin type.

From dogfighting, animal hoarding, horse slaughtering, to hunting for entertainment, skin and precious body part, and torturing for profit, animal cruelty is one of the most destructive ills in society.

If we talk about Pakistan, cases of animal cruelty often go overlooked and people do not even bat an eyelid over the pain caused to innocent animals. Recently, a case of helpless dogs came into the limelight. Poor dogs were left to fight to the death with other dogs in a pit. Only for the purpose of gambling or for the mere sake of entertainment.

A few years ago, about 900 dogs were poisoned in Karachi, and their bodies were dumped in the streets.
