An old video of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi shows him confessing about breaking a TV at his home once after he saw his daughter trying to imitate an ‘Arti’ — a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja — scene performed on an Indian daily soap.
In an old interview clip from Nida Yasir’s morning show, Afridi recounts how he once broke his family’s TV in anger.
When the host asks if he ever broke a TV in his home, Afridi gives a shocking response. “I smashed my TV once, because of my wife,” he recalls. “These daily Indian soaps on Star Plus were quite popular then.”
“I had asked my wife to watch them alone and not with the kids,” the former all-rounder continues. “One day I came out of my room and saw one of my kids performing Arti while watching a Star Plus show. When I saw her, I don’t know what happened and I smashed the TV inside the wall.”

Lala, who is known for being quite a protective and loving father, recently went on to request his fans and followers to disregard any accounts being attributed to his daughters and any news being associated with them.
Taking to Twitter, Afridi shared a screenshot of one of his daughter’s fake accounts. The shared screenshot showed a fake account of Ansha Afridi on the micro-blogging site. It described her as a “proud daughter of Boom Boom Afridi and angel of Nadia Shahid.”
The imposter account, having garnered 5,613 followers in Ansha’s name, recently re-tweeted a photo of Shaheen Shah Afridi with heart emoticons, shared theories on the Afghanistan and India match, along with videos and photos of Ansha.
“I would like to clarify that none of my daughters have any social media accounts, so please disregard any ‘accounts’ or ‘news’ that are associated with my daughters,” said Lala.
The cricketer and his wife are blessed with five beautiful daughters together; Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, Asmara, and Arwa. He believes that his daughters are his biggest support system.
