Following in the footsteps of her son Junaid Safdar, as well as her cousin Hamza Shahbaz, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz also decided for singing at her son’s wedding celebration.
The son of Maryam Nawaz and Captain Muhammad Safdar Awan, Junaid Safdar, tied the knot with Ayesha Saif Khan in London in August. The remaining wedding festivities have now begun in the provincial capital.
The groom’s parents could not attend the nikah ceremony earlier. Maryam had announced that she would not request the government to allow her to travel to London for the ceremony.
During the wedding, the former premier Nawaz Sharif and former finance minister Ishaq Dar attended the wedding. Meanwhile, Maryam and Safdar, both of whom were in Lahore, were on a video call with their son.
Hamza Shahbaz hosted an event at his house in Lahore ahead of Junaid’s wedding. The host took the internet by surprise when videos of him crooning went viral on social.
Members of the Sharif family continue to amaze us with their vocals as the most recent to show her skills was the mother of the groom. Many videos circulating on the internet show Maryam singing the classic Jab Koi Baat and Chura Liya Hai along with the singer hired at the event.

Several PML-N leaders were spotted listening to Maryam Nawaz singing, including, of course, her husband. As was PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzaib, who was there in a personal capacity as a friend of the family.
Of course, a Sharif family wedding is incomplete without someone singing their heart out. They continue to wow us with their vocals effortlessly.
A video of Junaid enthralling the audience with his soulful voice at his wedding also went viral earlier. With his soulful voice, the 25-year-old did not only win the hearts of his wedding guests but also of social media users.
The wedding reception will be held on December 14 in Islamabad and a valima in Lahore on December 17, the PML-N has confirmed.
