They both were called “Burewala Express”. What made Waqar superior was his technique to bowl. A yorker with a late swing at the last moment makes the ball unplayable for players. In 1994 against New Zealand, he got the hat trick which raised the bar for him and exhibited his bowling pace.

Believe it or not, he changed the perception of bowling. His style was different from others, he didn’t use to bowl short ones instead he always goes for full length. As mentioned above, he had ups and downs but his down was not good for him.

At the time of his staying at the peak, he was dropped in 2000 after the conflict with Wasim Akram. Everyone knows no matter how deadly they were together but they didn’t like each other at all.

The same year, he got himself banned for ball tempering was fined half of the match fee. He was also the first player to be banned from a match for such inappropriate action. All of this happened while he was a captain.

In the 2003 world cup, he was off bowling attack due to his beamer at Australian player Andrew Symonds. His captaincy career wasn’t good at all.

On the domestic side, he grabbed the fine attention of the English side and he played with Surrey in the 90s. in 1991, he was the lion as he took the club on his shoulder with his bowling attack and picked 113 wickets in 582 overs.
