Well, just when you thought the Trump administration could not be more unbelievable, they just let a token of their sheer ridiculousness loose, causing problems, problems, and further problems.
People from Middle Eastern and North African countries are banned from carrying large electronic devices during their flights to the United States. It has caused a major outrage among passengers because this outright affects their business objectives and lives in general. Imagine having a choice between your phone and laptop!
The restriction is believed to have been imposed on non-stop flights to the United States from 10 major airports of 8 majority-Muslim countries. The countries believed to be affected include United Arab Emirates, Saudia Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt.
As a Pakistani, why should you be concerned?
Well, there are hardly any direct flights to the United States from Pakistan. PIA incorporates, but only to 1-2 destinations. What if your destination is not included in that list and you have to resort to some international airline, let’s say Emirates, Qatar or Etihad? You’ll be doomed. You will have to make a choice between the electronics you are taking. It is going to be very hard because a majority of these airlines are connected from destinations and airports that passengers are banned from taking electronic devices to the United States from.
This restriction imposed severely affects you if you are visiting the United States for business purposes. Other than that, just ready to be very annoyed by toddlers who will be crying non-stop because their mommies would no longer be able to entertain them with iPads!
NOW IMAGINE THE JET LAG AFTER A LONG-HAUL FLIGHT SWAMPING OF CRANKY KIDS CRYING ALL THE WAY TO THE DESTINATION!

SIMPLY!
With flying, we’ve learned to defy gravity. With airline and airport security regulations, we’ve learned to defy logic. #electronicsban

SCHOOLED
one of the dumbest things about this electronics ban is there’s no meaningful internal difference between, say, an iPhone & an iPad.

HAH!
Why are they banning electronics?? Sounds like school #electronicsban

Nice metaphor!
This #electronicsban is hanging a mosquito net over one side of a bed and expecting the mosquitos won’t find their way around it.

WE HAVE A WINNER!

2.0 Muslims with no residency
3.0 OK Muslims but no laptops
4.0 FINE Muslims but no pens, they can’t have pens— Nesrine Malik (@NesrineMalik) March 21, 2017
This ban rather looks like a deliberate blow to the mammoth airlines operating. What do you guys think about it?
