Islamophobia is a growing phenomenon in the West. Primarily, some of the modern and liberal countries showed religious intolerance towards Islam. The disrespecting of Islam led to violent occurrences in the west. Recently, an anti-Islam woman in Norway did desecration of the Quran following which clashes erupted in the country.
Following the evil acts in the name of freedom of speech, Pakistan, Turkey, and several other Muslim countries showed their anger.
The desecration of the Quran, Norway
A group called Stop Islamization of Norway (SIAN) gathered a rally in Norway. They were present near the Parliament building in Oslo. On the other hand, there were Anti-SIAN protestors, which worsened the situation.
The situation became critical when a female representative of SIAN ripped pages from the Holy book. She then even spat on the ripped pages and threw them on road.
The women while ripping the pages told the anti protestors, “Look, now I will desecrate the Quran.”
Pakistan & Turkey condemn the act of desecration of the Quran
Pakistani government condemned the desecration of the Quran. Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said, “Pakistan strongly condemns the recent incidents of desecration of the Holy Quran in Malmo Sweden & Oslo Norway. The rise of such Islamophobic occurrences goes against the spirit of any religion. Freedom of speech can’t justify religious hatred.”
He added, “Ensuring respect for religious beliefs of others is a collective responsibility and is absolutely critical for global peace and prosperity.”
The foreign Ministry of Turkey condemned the shameful act. “These remnants of the Nazis infiltrate the societies in which they live in like viruses and harm them.”
It added, “Even the fact that mainstream political parties do not prevent such racist rhetoric for the sake of obtaining votes, or partially embracing them, poses a serious threat.”
“We expect Norwegian authorities to take all the necessary precautions to prevent its repeat,”
Muslims on social media reacted heavily towards the disrespectful act of desecration of the Quran in Norway.

To conclude, not only the government but the people of Pakistan and Turkey condemned the vile act of desecration of the Quran in Norway, several other Muslim countries also spoke against the disrespectful act. Furthermore, it is not the first time, people in the West have done such deplorable acts against Islam in the past as well. Recently, Kanye West was slammed for disrespecting Islam. In 2019, a Muslim man in Norway had stopped a racist man from burning the Quran!
