8 Things We Do When Our Internet Is Not Working!

Living in one of Pakistan’s major cities you are bound to face the all-so-famous internet issue. There is never a day when your internet is not down for a moment or two, and there is never a time when you do not curse it. It may be because of the bandwidth which Pakistan receives, your connection coming from the local telephone exchange, or it may be because of the cable coming to your home; the internet finds a way to get on our nerves. So, what do we do when there is no internet? Here are some “healthy” advice we all (or most of us) follow when we need to perform an important task but, our internet decides otherwise:

1) Open Google!

The internet is going down and its speed is slower than your will to do something about it once and for all. What do you do? You open a browser and quickly type “www.google.com”. Why would you do that? Because it is the only website that can open with the current situation, and it helps to lower our blood pressure!

2) Curse and Then Some!

You curse the internet, you curse the service provider, you curse your computer, and you curse the situation you are in!

3) We Restart The Router!

Okay, so we got this idea from the service helpline when we used to call them. “Have you tried restarting your router ma’am/sir?” is what we get most of the times, and surprisingly it fixes our issue. Not going to into the logic behind this but, restarting a router is not the solution to most of the issues, yet we like to think it is.

4) Tighten The Cable and Wire Connections!

“Maybe a wire is loosely attached to the router, if I just push it even further than it should be, I’ll be able to receive pure speed.” This is not how it works ladies and gentlemen, so stop hurting your router or the Ethernet port.

5) Play That Dinosaur Game!

90s’ kids would rather remember playing Pinball, Solitaire, or Hearts. However, today’s generation with their Windows 8 and 10, will play that jumping dinosaur game on Google Chrome. What is your high score there?

6) Give Up And Discover The World Around Us!

This is the point when nothing seems to work and you are helpless, and life seems to have come to an abrupt end. Just then, you see a ray of light coming from a wall, you notice you are sitting in your room and staring at a tube light. You go outside and realize you have parents, and siblings, and even pets. Hell, even they suddenly remember that they have you in their house as well!

7) Time to Eat!

No internet means you start paying attention to things and happenings around you. You suddenly become interested in HUM TV’s 24×7 dramas and even talk to other people who are normally known as family. But you know what? Getting off your computer means you start feeling hungry because the last time you ate something is something you cannot remember.

Finally, you go out for a pleasant walk. Accepting that nothing can be done except doing your work through a 3G/4G Hotspot connection, you decide that it is more feasible to preferably go out.

Life is so much different when there is no internet to grab your attention. The way we plan our day is so interesting. Maybe, a slow or a dead connection is the universe’s way of telling us to go outside and socialize, even with our family!
