Last night the Game Awards nomination ceremony took place in which God of War: Ragnarok took the charge and dominated with 10 nominees.
Before the release of God of War, everyone was predicting Elden Ring as the main contender for the game of the year award but looks like it’s fading away and people’s choices might shift as well.
Apart from the GoW, two other games secured second place with the nominees Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West with seven each, while third place unexpectedly goes to BlueTwelve’s cyber-kitty sim Stray(opens in new tab), which drew six nominations.
Like every year, each game holds a special element in their game and makes the game award shows more interesting. One game stands in the position where it shouldn’t and this time Elden Ring was nominated for Best Narrative which is bizarre in every way possible.
The Game Awards Nominations – God of War Leads Its Way
Ever since God of War: Ragnarok released fans have gone crazy with unexceptional gameplay and storyline.
It was confirmed that God of War would dominate the game awards nomination and demolish their competitors out there.
It’s not surprising that this year’s game awards were surely perfect and exciting compared to last year’s game award show considered the most disappointing event ever.
Elden Ring undoubtedly surprised everyone when it was released, the writer George R.R Martin also praised the game and even won the most awaited game of the year award in the Golden Joystick Awards.
The 2022 Game Awards will also feature a new category, Best Adaptation, which honors “game-inspired projects across entertainment.” Three of the nominees in the category come from Netflix, while the other two are theatrical releases:
