Facebook or say Meta since Mark Zuckerberg came with the idea of the name change and gave a glimpse of Metaverse things got real. People showed their interest, internet citizens went crazy with their unique idea because no one imagined it in real.
It’s hard to witness in reality, because such kind of concept is only seen in movies or series. A few years back, one of the most popular TV shows ”Black Mirror” highlighted the concept of Metaverse similar to that and when Mark officially announced it Good Lord.
No one saw it coming although his name kind of went on the controversial lane where other Meta-named companies claimed to be the first owner of the name.
But guess what? Something more interesting thing came out regarding Metaverse which is considered futuristic social media communication. The classic and popular cartoon series “Simpsons” who’s known for predicting some iconic real moments that took place long after years of series.
Who can forget Donald Trump’s presidential election that shocked the world, but Simpson already predicted it a long time ago.
The same thing happened with the Metaverse too. Yes! You heard it right, in Simpsons one of the episodes they discuss the Metaverse.
Simpson the ultimate predictor of Metaverse
The Simpsons have become the very popular show for predictions they have surely done in more than 700 episodes.
Everyone knows Mark Zuckerberg made it to the headline with the new name Meta, but Simpsons has predicted more than a decade ago “the future of the social media network metaverse”.
It all took place in the ninth episode of season 23 broadcasted in 2011, which highlighted the main point with the reference to a Meta conglomerate.
It’s not the first time Simpsons have predicted, remember US Capitol right took place after the US presidential election took place, Simpsons already predicted in 1996.
Also, they have predicted oil prices crash too. So, Simpsons got some really good records.
There have been around 8 times when series or movies have accurately predicted the future and it shocked the world when it got revealed.
What was the chapter of the episode?
The episode aired on the 11th of December with the title Holidays of Future Passed. It shows characters are in the future. An interesting thing happened, during the show millions of people connected through the virtual universe.
The whole episode takes you to the digital world, which surely indicates Mark’s plan. The Simpsons episode wouldn’t be so far from reality, as Meta’a aim said, “make the metaverse a reality and help people connect, find communities “
To clear the air, Meta’s statement when it got announced, “The metaverse will be a hybrid combination of current online social experiences”, which will be done in “a three-dimensional environment.”
Consequently, he noted that they will be able to do “things that they will not be able to do in the non-virtual world”,
What is Metaverse?
For those who aren’t aware of the Metaverse which is considered the future of social media networks. It’s basically multiple combinations of elements which include, virtual reality, augmented reality, and video where users “live” within a digital universe. There’s no harm in saying that, you will be living in a virtual world.
