As Pakistan Super League (PSL) entered into its fifth edition, the country is filled with international cricket stars and legends. Amidst the exciting events taking place throughout, recently, a few international players met Prime Minister Imran Khan. Held in Islamabad at PM Khan’s official residence, the chit chat session had Shane Watson, Sir Vivian Richards and Greg Chappell.
Australia’s Shane Watson and others met PM Imran Khan in Islamabad!
This year playing with Quetta Gladiators, the former Australian cricketer Shane Watson had an incredible time. Prior to his arrival in Pakistan, Shane Waston shared his excitement to team up with the legendary Sir Viv Richards. Earlier today, Shane Watson along with a clip from the interaction, expressed his delight over finally meeting one of his cricketing heroes, PM Imran Khan.
Here’s what the Australian cricket star tweeted:

Admired throughout the world, PM Khan is truly a legend and is followed by millions of people who look up to him as a leader. Well, in the recent meeting with the Premier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) director international Zakir Khan was also present. Extremely elated on meeting his cricketing hero, Shane Waston posted an overwhelming tweet expressing his elation.
”This was incredibly special for me to meet and chat with one of my cricketing heroes, Imran Khan!”
Feeling ‘incredibly special’, Shane Watson wrote, ”This was incredibly special for me to meet and chat with one of my cricketing heroes, the Great All-Rounder, Imran Khan. What an inspiring life he has lived on and off the cricket field!!! So amazing to hear Sir Viv, Greg Chappell and Imran relive the good old days!!”.
It indeed would have been a knowledgeable experience for the 38-year-old Australian cricketer. However, among the three legendary guests, only Shane Watson and Sir Viv Richards are in Pakistan for PSL but not Greg Chappell. Particularly, Chappell is on his tour de Pakistan to enjoy the PSL matches while Watson and Richards are a part of Quetta Gladiators.
The controversial opening ceremony of PSL V!
The revival of cricket in Pakistan that once used to seem impossible is now a reality with the support of such legendary cricketers. Unfortunately, this year’s PSL got caught in several controversies which resulted in spreading chaos among the masses. Apart from that, the influx of international personalities in Pakistan and their immense support for the game deserves appreciation.
Among other cricket personalities’ arrival in Pakistan, Australia’s former cricketer Dean Jones is also part of PSL V. Last week, after a match in Karachi’s National Stadium, Dean Jones garnered praises after his cleaning video went viral. Well, for 2021, PCB has announced to extend PSL VI to new venues for a broader experience.
