NAB Fails To Arrest Shahbaz Sharif After Raiding His House In Lahore

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team was seen active again today. This time, the target was PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif. A heavy team comprising of police and NAB officials reached his residence.

Being a cancer survivor and deeming himself sick, Shehbaz Sharif had asked NAB officials to interview him via Skype, for his comfort. However, NAB ridiculed his stance and raided his house instead.

Now, the NAB team has left Shehbaz Sharif’s house after saying he was not present in the house. Shehbaz Sharif officially won the hide and seek game.

The purpose of the raid was believed to arrest Shehbaz Sharif. Shehbaz Sharif, after being summoned by NAB, did not show up for his interview and question-answer sessions. It is also possible that the NAB team will interview him inside his house. However, if that were the case, a heavy contingent of police would have not accompanied the NAB team.

Shahbaz Sharif had been evading his session with the NAB team for a long while. This irked NAB officials and they made sure that the process of accountability was carried on, even during the tough times of COVID-19.

Shahbaz Sharif has also been claiming that some NAB officials have been tested positive for coronavirus, thus he is not happy with this process. People are also pointing out how the government is more focused on political targetting, rather than solving the current crisis.

This is a developing story…
