Following the sexual assault of a four-year-old girl in the Pakhwal area on Monday, traders and people from different walks of life have taken to streets demanding the arrest and public hanging of the accused.
Protestors holding banners and placards and shouting slogans, dispersed peacefully after the horrific incident. The deputy superintendent of police (central) Bashir Khan promised the early arrest of the assaulter.
In addition to this, a trader leader Shakeel Awan said the sexual assault of children was an inhuman act. And therefore, stated that perpetrators should be hanged publicly.
Moreover, besides this in the day, Speaker of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said the government would publicize laws against child abuse. As well as the legislate would hand down stricter punishments to such culprits.
Besides the traders and other people from civil society, children from schools also protested in Mansehra for justice for the 4-year-old girl. They can be heard chanting “We want justice”, and asking for the public hanging of the rapist.
Seeing young men protesting against injustice certainly brings us a ray of hope in these times of hopelessness. There is hope that the future generation men would raise their voices over the sexual assault of women and fight the unjust system.
4-year-old found in a miserable condition
On Monday evening, a four-year-old girl was assaulted in Pakhwal area, in Mansehra. The grandfather of the victim girl lodged the FIR with the City Police Station. He alleged that one Abdul Sattar assaulted his four-year-old granddaughter.

In another attempt to catch the accused, another police party led by the district police officer rushed to the scene and started a search operation, but to no avail.
The victim’s family members and locals demanded of Prime Minister Imran Khan, K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the police chief, and DIG Hazara to ensure early arrest of the accused.
Finally, some good news
Recent updates on the case report suggest that the suspect named in the case, Abdul Sattar has been handed over to the police by his relatives today. According to the sources, the police while confirming the arrest said that the suspect would undergo a DNA test.
Our nation has miserably failed to protect our children from unpleasant incidents. Earlier this month, a 5-year-old girl, identified as Marwah, was kidnapped, tortured, raped, and killed in Karachi.
With respect to the rampant rape cases, it is high time the government ensures to punish the rapists with public hanging. What a sad world we live in!
