Sanam Chaudhry, a former actor who turned towards Allah after embracing her spiritual journey, recently answered some questions and disclosed what led her to quit the showbiz industry and embrace her spiritual path.
Chaudhry announced her decision to begin her spiritual journey in August, a day before her birthday. Sharing a clip, the former actor hinted at a celebratory surprise from her family upon supporting her decision.
The Mere Meherbaan actor also took down all the previously shared photos and videos from her Instagram profile, and only left a few from her nikah ceremony. Interestingly, her Instagram bio now reads, “A Muslim, a mother and learning Islam, the deen of our creator Allah”.
Earlier this week, Chaudhry came live on Instagram and answered a few queries of fans and followers regarding her spiritual journey.
“I am quoting a Hadith which is dear to me: ‘Among you is the best who learns Quran and spreads its message’,” she said. “As you all know I was on a roller coaster ride. I was an actor, I was very successful, winning awards, everything was great in my life.”
“The only thing was I was looking for peace,” she added. “I had everything I ever wanted, I got married, I had a baby, but I wasn’t satisfied.”
The process of self-realization
“While I held several contacts with producers and did not turn down any offers, one day I realized that was not my path,” Chaudhry continued. “I needed family and I got it, I worried that if I were to start working again, I would be distracted.”
“After reading Chapter 2, I felt connected to Quran. I thought Quran was talking to me, and it was then that I turned to Allah. The process of self-realization began, and I found myself.”
“In an Instagram post, I admitted it was difficult for me to wear Hijab,” the former actor added. “But later acknowledged I was wrong, so I returned to Islam in order to please my creator.”
