As soon as Ramadan Muabarak starts, the devils are locked and everyone suddenly turns holy and religious. At that very time, Pakistani celebrities will be out to entertain us. This year too, they are also set to switch from their glamourous look to pious ones during Ramadan transmissions.
Like every year, this time again we will see some renowned faces of Pakistan entertainment industry to undergo a drastic transformation during Ramadan. From backless to dupatta and from flannel suits to shalwar kameez, it’s the season to be pious and everyone will put up their best display (like always).
From the past few years, Ramadan shows have been receiving a lot of criticisms over the inappropriate behaviors of the hosts in the name of entertainment.
A different Ramadan this year
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Ramadan transmission will be a bit different. As Ramadan approaches, a race begins between TV channels. Everyone wants a big name to host their transmission because the hosts, along with guests and prizes, are a major factor in attracting ratings.
However, this year, the Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the audience in the Ramdan shows as a precautionary measure.
“If two people are conducting a Ramadan transmission, they should sit in a way that the distance between them is not less than one meter. Only one guest will be allowed at a time. Programs cannot award prizes like cars and motorbikes because the world is facing hunger and unemployment, such measures will have a negative impact,” instructed PEMRA.
In line with the government’s ban on public gatherings, special studios for Ramadan will not be allowed this year.
These guidelines will surely affect the channels in making businesses. However, there must a new plan to grab the TRP.
Which celebs are expected to host Ramadan transmission?
Here are the few Pakistani faces who might be seen in their new avatars for this year’s Ramadan transmission.
Sanam Jung
Actress Sanam Jung, who is mostly seen in simple roles in Pakistani dramas, is expected to host Geo TV Ramadan transmission this year.

Reema Khan
Like last year, Pakistani veteran actress Reema Khan is expected to host Aaj News Ramadan transmission. Earlier in 2019, she hosted the transmission on the same channel.

Fahad Mustafa
Fahad Mustafa has been associated with ARY Network for years now. He will be seen hosting the Ramadan transmission as well as his game show Jeeto Pakistan during Ramadan. He will be accompanied by host Waseem Badami and Iqrar-ul-Hasan.

Hareem Shah
Hareem Shah will be new to this year’s race. There is a strong buzz about controversial social media sensation Hareem Shah being offered the Ramadan transmission. She also shared an Instagram video where she claimed that she was offered to host the transmission. However, no channel so far has claimed that they have approached Hareem. Let’s see if she will be seen on any channel hosting a religious show (huh seriously!).

Ahsan Khan
Previously, Ahsan Khan has hosted Ramadan transmission on Hum TV, this year he is expected to host the transmission on PTV.

Tuba Amir
Aamir Liaquat Hussain introduced the trend of Ramadan transmissions in Pakistan. He has recently confirmed that he will be appearing on Express TV this year but declined to share details. However, his second wife Tuba, who is mostly seen accompanying him in his shows, is also expected to join him in his popular Ramadan transmission.

We are eager to see what channels have planned for the audience this time amidst the coronavirus crisis. It will be interesting to know how celebrities will entertain the audience this year.
