Ranbir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor Break Silence on the ‘Mahira Issue’

It’s astonishing how living in a sub-continent, where smoking from teenage is considered cool and modern clothing is considered acceptable in Urban areas, we are still pointing out fingers on others. None of us would have ever before had an issue in watching item numbers or a bold scene in Game of Thrones but a Muslim Pakistani actress doing that is considered Haram. Nevertheless, who could have thought out of the blue that our pakbaaz Khirad who is popularly known as Mahira Khan would be found smoking and wearing “itnay chotay kapray” (Haey Allah) on the streets of New York. Plus, that too with a Hindu Indian Actor Rabir Kapoor who we love in movies and find hot.

The social media as we all know has been flooding with derogatory memes, advice, suggestions coming from all parts of the world. We have all been discussing Mahira and Rabir as they are our phuppo kay bachay who have been caught smoking and now our khandan will be badnaam because of them. Yet, celebrities supporting both the actors were highlighted the most. However, after all this hype the Kapoor’s have now given their statements. In defense of his son, Rishi Kapoor said:

“He can meet anybody whoever he wants to, and if people are going to invade in his privacy, it’s not done. How do we know that here’s something more to this picture? He could have met her just outside there. If they were dating or seeing each other, wouldn’t people in Mumbai know?”

Well, *woot woot* to the papa for supporting his son and the actress. Now, moving on to what his son Ranbir Kapoor said:

“I’ve gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love. “

It’s shameful that we in curiosity of knowing what happened acted like jerks and even called her cyst a love bite. Is that how we treat women of our nation? No matter what she does we have no right in getting into somebody’s personal life and invade their privacy be it a man or a woman.  Kudos to all those who supported the actors including Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor who stood up for a woman.
