Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has hinted at the blockage of different VPNs across Pakistan. The matter of VPNs was brought up in the Senate Standing Committee.
Senator Palwasha Khan raised the issue. It was during a meeting on the Senate Standing Committee. Usage of social media platforms was discussed. Meanwhile, Senator Humayun Mohmand questioned the right or wrong of elected members to use VPN.

Additionally, the PTA cited 20,500 social media users who have registered VPNs to be blocked later. Earlier, the IT Ministry and PTA launched a one-window platform for IP and VPN registration. Thus, assuring smooth business transactions and so on.
