Karachi is one of the largest cities of Pakistan. In fact, it is also known as the ‘City of Lights’. However, K-Electric has surely made that statement incorrect with their hard work and incredible performance. Note the sarcasm, behind that statement; at the moment, the PPP government is under hot waters as every Karachite calls them out on their poor planning and negligence throughout the country.
Monsoon spell a curse for Karachi
The MET office had predicted a week prior, which showed, that Karachi will be faced with tremendous Monsoon showers. Regardless, of this news being all over media, the PPP government failed to take any such action on the matter; hence, within a few minutes, the city of Karachi was flooding, with manholes overflowing, gutter fountains, and sewerage water flowing on the streets, the entire city was looking like a street of Venice. However, all the sewerage water, over-flowing streets and flooded roads were 24 hours before than what the situation has become now! From getting electrocuted due to fallen electric wires, to drowning.
Twitterati criticizes PPP government calls them a failure
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto recently stated that: ‘Barish aati hai tou pani aata hai, zyda baarish aati hai, tou zyada pani aata hai’. Although the statement did leave us smiling and laughing out loud, it is something which makes us also wonder, is this how PPP government wishes to govern the province of Sindh; and the largest city of Sindh?
I wish Karachi had a proper infrastructure. I wish, we didn't have issues of Sewerage, Garbage, Broken Roads/Streets. I wish our City had functional Govt. You can't enjoy the rain in this terrible infrastructure. I wish, we didn't have PPP!

However, we admit the people of Karachi are going through a very frustrating time period. The urban flooding is making it difficult for people to commute, about 7-8 have lost their lives due to broken electric wires and electrocution.
Is it not important to look after the residents or take precautionary measures beforehand? Knowing that a monsoon season is nearing!

Even celebrities are condemning the situation of Karachi. Tamgha-e-Imtiaz holder Mehwish Hayat took to Twitter to speak about the troubling situation of Karachi. She even mentions the poor state, the most posh area of Karachi, DHA is in and we are truly in shock!

In addition to that, there is no response from the PPP government up till now to make amends; or to restore balance to the chaotic situation the city is facing at the very moment. We wonder when will that finally happen?
People are really fed up with the poor performance and have had enough. Hence, let us hope that the PPP government takes a right action real soon. Or else people will be forced to take matters in their own hands regarding the jeopardy their life is right now.
