Pakistan is to host the Shanghai Corporation Summit (SCO) in October. Moreover, it will be attended by Government Head Officials (GCO). Pakistan and India are prominent members of the SCO. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has invited Indian PM Narendra Modi. Additionally, the visit may help to ease the tension between the two nations.
However, Narendra Modi may not likely visit, India media has reported. It is not the first time Narendra Modi is not visiting a summit. Earlier on the Indian PM missed out on a meeting in Kazakhstan due to internet national responsibility.

However, there are other reasons. The world stands divided in the east and the west, cold war never ended. Simultaneously, India has constantly refrained from endorsing China’s BRI project. Therefore, maintaining its diplomatic balance.
Thus, it will be interesting to see who represents India in SCO, and their statement. SCO summit is to held in October, in Islamabad.
