Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the shelter home in Faisalabad on Friday. The project is part of the prime minister’s ongoing campaign Panahgah (shelter). The ceremony took place during PM’s one day visit to the city. The official statement released by the Prime minister office on social media stated that:

“The inauguration is part of PM’s ongoing drive of providing shelter to the homeless. In addition to regular shelter homes, temporary shelters have been erected to protect the poor from freezing winter.”

Imran Khan has always had a heart of gold and has always looked forward to helping those in need. Apart from inaugurating the shelter home in Faisalabad, he has previously inaugurated so many projects of the same nature.

PM Imran Khan shared the great news on Twitter!

The action took place when the prime minister directed the chief ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that they ensure to provide the living facilities to the needy people in the provinces. Also to take the required steps to give possible accommodation in this cold weather.

“Given the extremely cold weather conditions, I have asked CMs of Punjab and KP to ensure that no person is left out without shelter; and their administrations must take immediate action to provide temporary shelters plus food for those who cannot be accommodated in existing Panah­gahs (shelter homes),”

Moreover, the Prime minister also visited the shelter home to check the comfort they are giving to the people. Furthermore, PM and his delegation also had lunch with panahgah’s people.

A Home For Everyone!

The shelter home has covered the area of 4 kanals and 3 marlas of land. The total cost of the project estimated Rs. 35 million in six months. It has a capacity of 700 people, but currently, there are 400 beds available. Moreover, the shelter home has three halls (one each for male, females, and transgenders), two dining halls, two prayer halls, 18 washrooms (11 for males and 7 for females), a kitchen/storeroom for food, manager office, security offices for male and females.

Earlier to this, PM Khan had inaugurated Lahore’s panahgah for the people of Lahore. It’s a very good initiative to provide facilities to the needy people. Furthermore, the government also aims to set up more panahgahs in other cities as well.

Well, it’s the duty of the government to provide shelter to homeless people. This is a primary need for living. Plenty of people in our country spend their nights out on the street. So, with the help of this initiative, lots of people will get the facility of home.
