The ICC has picked Pakistani cricketers Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf for the prestigious ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year 2024.

Saim Ayub’s Amazing Year

Saim Ayub had a breakout season in 2024. He scored 515 runs in 9 matches, with a top score of 113 not out, a batting average of 64.37, and a strike rate of 105.53. He hit 3 centuries and 1 half-century.

Saim made his ODI debut in November and immediately impressed. He scored 125 runs in three matches in Australia and got his first ODI century in Zimbabwe shortly after. In December, Saim scored two centuries during a series in South Africa, where he averaged 78.3.

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Impact

Shaheen played only 6 matches but took 15 wickets, with a bowling average of 17.6 and best bowling figures of 4/47. He proved again why he is one of the most reliable and consistent bowlers in the world.

Haris Rauf’s Strong Finish

Haris Rauf played 8 matches, taking 13 wickets with a bowling average of 22.4 and best figures of 5/29. He finished 2024 in top form, taking 10 wickets in a three-match ODI series in Australia, including a brilliant five-wicket haul in Adelaide, which helped Pakistan win the match comfortably.
