After a year’s break, the 2023 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will feature great Pakistani players. Due to schedule difficulties with the Pakistan Super League, Pakistani players were unable to compete in the competition last year (PSL).
This season, though, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the competition because it will feature renowned T20 performers from Pakistan. Pakistan’s players will be available for the bulk of the competition because their home series against New Zealand will end during the early rounds of the BPL.
Pakistan players who will be part of the national squad against New Zealand will be eligible to join the BPL after the tour concludes, whilst those who will not be part of the team will be able to play the entire tournament.
Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Mohammad Rizwan, all members of Pakistan’s 2022 T20 World Cup roster, have all signed with different teams for the event.
Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, and Azam Khan, who are not part of the national team, will play in the 2023 BPL.
Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan’s express pacer, was also scheduled to play in the tournament, but his participation is now in doubt after suffering a knee injury during the 2022 T20 World Cup final.
So far, 13 Pakistani players have signed up to play in the competition.
The ninth season of the BPL will take place from January 5 to February 16, 2023. The 7-team tournament will be held in Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chittagong.
