Pakistan wins tri-series

No one can predict the Pakistan cricket team, like what’s next they going to do and that’s the same thing they did today against New Zealand in the final of the Tri-series.

People were criticizing the team for their middle order and right on time Pakistan’s middle order kind of worked out in a classic style.

Mohammad Nawaz who was a match-winner against Bangladesh showcased his same class against New Zealand bowlers and Haider Ali gave him support as well.

It’s a big win for the team, as there have been many fingers pointed at the team’s selection and Babar’s captaincy over the past few months.

But this win can be said a shut-up call to all the criticizers out there. Looking at the overall performance by the green team in the series was phenomenal, yeah there were some blunders and the middle order struggled in a few of the matches costing the team as well.

Shan Masood couldn’t show his true batting class and struggle. Haider Ali helped Nawaz build a good partnership, but Haider Ali got out and then Iftikhar Ahmed joined Nawaz.

Nawaz finished in his style and Pakistan won the series with an outstanding performance.

Babar Azam On The Victory

Babar Azam recently broke Virat’s other record and became the fastest Asian player to score 11,000 runs. After the historic win, the skipper said, “The way our team played deserves all the credit. The bowlers were brilliant at the death. The way the middle order played was outstanding.

Haider and Nawaz are outstanding, so we need to step up and perform. (On the wicket slowing down) It didn’t make me change my thoughts about the toss. The wicket played the same too. Going to Australia, we have good confidence.”

Frustrated with the toss – Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson played a great knock, but with bad luck couldn’t win the series. He said, “Great game, Pakistan is a strong side, credit to them for turning it around. Frustrated with the loss. You always want 20 more, but it was competitive. The wicket was on the lower side.

They came in and changed the momentum well. There’s no blame, everyone went with the plan. Execution went wrong, and the margins were small. With batters coming in and all improving the signs are positive ahead of the World Cup.”

Mohammad Nawaz Player of the Match

Mohammad Nawaz, the player of the match enjoyed his moment and expressed the motive behind his remarkable innings. “I just backed myself in both days.

Tried to display what I’d practiced in the nets with a clear mind. Batting in the middle order has helped a lot, backing myself and going with the plan was key. (On the 15th over vs Sodhi) Haider helped with a couple of boundaries in the previous over.”

Babar Azam immediately left for Brisbane for the World Cup trophy shoot and captains conference. However, the team will travel tomorrow where Shaheen Afridi who got recovered from injury, and Fakhar also joined their teammates in Brisbane as well.
