Pakistan, being the biggest victim of terrorism for so long is now paving its road to progress and development. Currently, the reviving period of the country is serving national cricket with great opportunities to stable its low performing stance. Well, earlier today, it was confirmed that international cricket will ‘finally’ come home as Pakistan vs Sri Lanka test series is due to take place next month.
Sri Lanka to play a test series in Pakistan after 10 years!
However, these days the national cricket team is on its tour to Australia, trying to increase their chances of winning. Apparently, Pakistan Super League (PSL) in which a ‘pugam’ will now decide the first pick, was also started to showcase the safe conditions. Responsively, today, Sri Lanka’s Cricket Team has agreed to play a test series against Pakistan on Karachi and Rawalpindi pitches.
Since the 2009 attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team’s official bus in Pakistan, international cricket in Pakistan suffered after a massive backlash. Gradually, Pakistan’s cricket paced up and the launch of Pakistan Super League (PSL) created numerous positive aspects. Earlier this year, before the Australian tour, Pakistan Cricket Team had played a few ODI and T20 matches against Sri Lanka in Lahore.
The improving security conditions of Pakistan!
Eventually, the unfortunate incident created an irrelevantly negative image about Pakistan and closed doors for international cricket. Particularly, the decision was made by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board after witnessing appropriate security conditions earlier. Moreover, it will be the first test series to be hosted by Pakistan after nearly 10 years.
As per reports, the test series will begin on 11th December in Rawalpindi and the last match will be played in Karachi on 23rd December. The first test match will be played in Pindi Cricket Stadium while the second test is scheduled for National Cricket Stadium. However, the confirmation of the venue stirred an adrenaline rush among the Pakistani cricket fans.
