Apparently, Pakistan Super League (PSL) in which a ‘pugam’ will now decide the first pick, was also started to showcase the safe conditions. Responsively, today, Sri Lanka’s Cricket Team has agreed to play a test series against Pakistan on Karachi and Rawalpindi pitches.

Since the 2009 attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team’s official bus in Pakistan, international cricket in Pakistan suffered after a massive backlash. Gradually, Pakistan’s cricket paced up and the launch of Pakistan Super League (PSL) created numerous positive aspects. Earlier this year, before the Australian tour, Pakistan Cricket Team had played a few ODI and T20 matches against Sri Lanka in Lahore.

Eventually, the unfortunate incident created an irrelevantly negative image about Pakistan and closed doors for international cricket. Particularly, the decision was made by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board after witnessing appropriate security conditions earlier. Moreover, it will be the first test series to be hosted by Pakistan after nearly 10 years.

As per reports, the test series will begin on 11th December in Rawalpindi and the last match will be played in Karachi on 23rd December. The first test match will be played in Pindi Cricket Stadium while the second test is scheduled for National Cricket Stadium. However, the confirmation of the venue stirred an adrenaline rush among the Pakistani cricket fans.

PCB Director shows satisfaction over the board’s ‘efforts’!

Soon after the great news broke out into the mainstream media, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Zakir Khan called it the board’s efforts. He stated, “This is fabulous news for Pakistan cricket and its reputation of being as safe and secure as any other country in the world. We are thankful to Sri Lanka Cricket for agreeing to send their team for the longer version of the game.”

“It will contribute significantly to the PCB’s efforts and drive for the regular resumption of international cricket. It will also help in its endeavors of attracting new audiences and the younger generation”, he added.

Emphasizing on the preparations, Zakir Khan said, “Now that the itinerary has been confirmed, we will shift our focus on series preparations to ensure we deliver arrangements as per our very high standards. This series is part of our cricket celebrations and we will leave no stone unturned in putting up a show which is a memorable one for the players, officials, fans, and media”.
