His 123 runs knock indeed gave a new song to the Netherlands’ fans to sing with pure joy.
Netherlands Qualifies For World Cup 2023
Scotland undoubtedly played brilliantly and managed to score 277 runs in 50 overs. Scottish batsmen showed their true class to keep the qualifying hope alive.
But no one knew that Netherland players would come with a bang and shatter all the hopes.
The Netherlands lost 6 wickets, but Bas de Leede stood firm on the pitch to give his side a big leap to secure second position in the table on net run rate.
In 42.5 overs, the game for Scotland was over because the way the Netherlands played there was no way that the Scottish side would recover.
They have joined Sri Lanka as the second qualifier. They will play their first ICC World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan on October 6 in Hyderabad.

“We had a look at the targets, where we wanted to be at the halfway point,” De Leede said at the post-match presentation.
“The rate was 10 to 11 runs per over, so we had to go into T20 mode and try and score as many runs as possible and see where it would take us.
“It’s amazing, I can’t describe the feeling, it’s going to be one big party tonight!”
