Pakistan announced their playing XI just 30 minutes before the toss for the crucial second Test against South Africa in Cape Town. Fast bowler Naseem Shah, who had a challenging outing in the first Test at Centurion, has been replaced by left-arm pacer Mir Hamza.
This decision to bench Naseem has sparked discussion as Pakistan aims to bolster their bowling attack for this match.
South Africa’s Determination to Seal the Series

South Africa has already secured a spot in the World Test Championship final, scheduled for June at Lord’s. However, captain Temba Bavuma emphasized that his team remains focused on securing a 2-0 series victory.
“The series isn’t over. We want to finish this clinically and aim for 2-0,” Bavuma stated, dismissing the idea of treating the match as insignificant.
