Pakistan Citizen Portal App: PM Checks Performance Of ‘Inactive’ Officers

The Pakistan Citizen Portal App has been a huge hit in the country ever since it was launched by the incumbent government. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, PM Imran Khan’s initiative has helped hundreds of thousands of people countrywide.

It is famously said, “with great power comes great responsibility” and PM Imran Khan is justifying it. As reported by Radio Pakistan, the PM will be checking performances for the Pakistan Citizen Portal App and evaluating them.

PM Khan will be taking action against officers who have been inactive inaction regarding complaints lodged by citizens. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) informed that a 5-member committee will be made to scrutinize officers’ performances. Conversely, the App has already proven its success with different cases of the people, solved timely.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had observed that complaints were disposed of without proper inquiry. They did not have a satisfactory reply and documentary evidence,” said the statement. Furthermore, it said that departments were taking extra time for no reason in handling complaints lodged to the Pakistan Citizen Portal App.

In addition, the PMO has written letters for the same issue to provincial ministries and departments around the country. The 5-member committees will be led by a 20-grade officer or a secretary. Once the report on officers has been compiled, it will be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Moreover, the committees will be looking at misconduct by officials as well. Any issue reported to the Pakistan Citizen Portal App which has been ignored or subsided will be brought up. Officers will then be taken to task according to the committees’ decisions.

The performance and evaluation report for the Pakistan Citizen Portal App will scrutinize how officers had been performing and handling complaints. Additionally, good officers will be appreciated, while the inactive ones will be singled out and served show-causes.

It was almost one year ago in 2018 that the PM had announced the launch of the Pakistan Citizen Portal App. An App, which helps people from around the country bring forth their complaints. Complaints against individuals or government bodies from the comfort of their homes.

In addition, one of the biggest advantages of the App is that if you deem fit, you can post as anonymous. Moreover, this means that when you launch a complaint, the person/body will not know any details about you or the complaint.

In February 2019, the App was awarded second-prize for government mobile application systems around the world. The event was the World Government Summit and it served as a huge win for Pakistan and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.
