Pakistan Announced Backups For Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf

Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup owing to injuries sustained during Pakistan’s Super 4s match against India. However, the PCB has recently confirmed the backups by other players. This is an important setback for Pakistan.

Due to the fact that both of the team’s main fast bowlers will not be participating in the forthcoming vital match against Sri Lanka, the management will be forced to include their backups in the roster.

Pakistan’s Backups For Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf

According to the representatives of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the administration has chosen Zaman Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani to serve as backups for the remaining portion of the Asia Cup 2023.

The fast bowler who was born in Kashmir has not yet made his debut for the Green Shirts in 50-over cricket. He has played for the national side in only six Twenty20 Internationals, where he has taken four wickets.

Shahnawaz Dahani, on the other hand, has been a part of the Men in Green for the past two years and has been in two One-Day International matches during that time. He has taken one wicket throughout both matches.

Grant Bradburn, the head coach of the team, commented on the move by saying, “We are taking a precautionary approach with Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah.” We shall evaluate them the next day.”

In response to a query on the decision to not send Haris and Naseem up to bat, Bradburn explained that putting them up to bat may make their ailments worse by exposing them to further stress.

In their second match in the Super 4s clash, India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs. On September 14, they will face Sri Lanka in their last Super 4s match.
