Overcoming Odds, Pakistan Wins Silver In Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

Overcoming many odds, Pakistan has won the Silver in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy. It was a gripping Asian Hockey Champions Trophy Final where the arch-rivals, Pakistan and India competed for the trophy. The match was so close that it had viewers glued to their seats till the final whistle.

India took lead in the match three times, whereas there were two crucial moments when Pakistan came back to level the scores. The third goal by India didn’t leave enough time for the men in green to make a come back. Not to forget the team that defeated a whole lot of Asian teams to reach the tournament final, despite so many financial and other factors going against it, ended up getting silver. A great achievement nevertheless by the men in green.

Khawaja Junaid, the head coach of team Pakistan said, “Players will take a lot of confidence from this final. We have achieved many things today.” He further stated that Pakistan was unfortunate today as they couldn’t convert. However, it was a great game of hockey.

Pakistan played tremendously well, given the fact that there are problems in funding our hockey team, but these men in green beat all the odds to achieve the unthinkable.
