Finally, after the endless controversial departure of Najam Sethi, his bitter rival contender Zaka Ashraf has been appointed chairman of the PCB.
Yes! Another non-cricketer was appointed as the chairman of PCB who already created a fuss regarding previous decisions.
If you don’t know, before being officially appointed, Zaka Ashraf showed his disapproval of Najam Sethi’s hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023.
It sparked the internet and many of the netizens didn’t like his attitude. Even ACC responds to Zaka Ashraf’s remarks on the hybrid model.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) backed Zaka Ashraf with high potential, during his appointment political involvement was at its peak.

Najam Sethi resigns from the PCB chairman race due to the involvement of the political parties.
At the PCB offices in Lahore, where he was scheduled to preside over the meeting of the 10-member committee, which the Cabinet Division approved through circulation on Wednesday, senior PCB officials welcomed the new chief upon his arrival.
PM Pressurized By PPP
PM Shehbaz Sharif was pressurized by the coalition partner PPP in having its own man as the PCB chief. The 10-member Management Committee formed over four months consists of Zaka Ashraf (ex-chairman PCB), Kalim Ullah Khan, Ashfaq Akhtar, Muhammad Mussadiq Islam, Azmat Pervez, Zaheer Abbas, Khurram Karim Somroo, Khawaja Nadeem, Mustafa Ramday and Zulfiqar Malik (all members).
“I am thankful to all including Prime Minister (Patron in Chief) for reposing trust in me,” Zaka Ashraf said while talking to The News after he was appointed the head of the newly formed MC.
Now everyone’s eyes are stuck on him with his performance, although people doubt his decision after he remarks on the hybrid model.
