NA Passes Historic Resolution To Write ‘Khatam-Un-Nabiyyin’ With Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Name

According to Islam, the belief in the finality of Prophethood is of utmost importance. No Muslim is a Muslim until he has a firm belief in the finality. Considering this, the Pakistan National assembly has passed the resolution to write Khatam-un-Nabiyyin with the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in text books.

Islam about Khatam-un-Nabiyyin

Khatam-un-Nabiyyin literally means the seal of Prophets. Prophett hood ended after the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.”

— The Qur’an – Chapter 33 Verse 40

Al-Hadith, Thawban ibn Bajdad

Thawban ibn Bajdad Reported a Hadith:  “Muhammad (PBUH) said, “The Hour will not be established until tribes of my ummah (community) unite with the idolaters, and until they worship idols. And in my ummah there will be thirty liars, each of whom will claim to be a prophet, (but) I am the seal of the prophets, there is no prophet after me.” (kulluhum yaz‘umu annahu nabī, wa anā khātamu ’n-nabīyīn, lā nabīya ba‘dī).Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman reports that Muhammad said, “In my ummah there will be twenty-seven liars and dajjals, among whom are four women, (but) I am the seal of the prophets, there is no prophet after me”.

Al-Hadith, Sahih Bukhari

Similarly, there is another Hadith about the finality of Prophethood. In Sahih al-Bukhari Abu Hurayrah reported: Muhammad (PBUH) said, “My similitude in comparison with the prophets before me is that of a man who has built a house nicely and beautifully, except for a place of one brick in a corner. The people go about it and wonder at its beauty, but say: ‘Would that this brick be put in its place!’ So I am that brick, and I am the seal of the prophets” (fa’anā ’l-labinah, wa anā khātamu ’n-nabīyīn).”

Hence, the belief in Allah completes after beliven that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the last Prophet of Allah.

The NA Resolution

Reported, the resolution has proposed to make it mandatory to write Khatam-un-Nabiyyin after the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After the National Assembly, it will be sent to the senate and then the president will approve it to make it a law.

Furthermore, it will be necessary to write Khatam-un-Nabiyyin in the textbooks with the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
