The Bollywood and Pakistani artists’ collaboration taking place on a big streaming platform. No matter how strict a policy the Indian government makes, no one can keep both the nation’s stars alone and they find different ways to collaborate.
And this time none other than Meesha Shafi’s soothing voice was added to the playlist for Amazon Prime India’s new show Hush Hush starring Juhi Chawla, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Karishma Tanna, Shahana Goswami, and others.
The song named ‘Mere Mahru’ dropped on YouTube and it’s the feeling of the song that takes you to the show’s scenario.
The director of the show shared her whole experience when she heard the song for the first time and she was overwhelmed by it.
Meera Shafi’s Collaboration With Tanuja Chandra
Tanuja Chandra took to Instagram and shared her experience of when she first heard the song. “Arijit Datta sent me [‘Mere Mahru’] as a voice note, I loved it. I’m so happy to have it in Hush Hush, it’s kind of the beating heart of the series,” she wrote.
She credited the songwriter Sameer Rahat and Shafi’s “gorgeous voice” while encouraging her followers to let the song “transport” them.
The song features women of the show, Chawla, Ali Khan, Tanna, Kamra, Goswami, and others.
Meera Shafi’s Thank You Note
The singer herself also wrote a thank you to the makers of the show for trusting her and giving this opportunity to her. Shafi wrote, “Thank you for trusting me with this Tanuja Chandra. Arijit Datta and Sameer Rahat it was an absolute pleasure to sing this most special song.”
Chandra re-shared her Instagram story and thanked Shafi for singing for them “from across oceans”. She also expressed that she’s glad Shafi came to her mind after she spoke with actor Sania Saeed and asked if she could get her the ‘Muaziz Saarif’ singer’s contact details.
After Meesha Shafi’s defamation case was dismissed by Lahore High Court, she’s been working on various projects and also appeared with his brother in Coke Studio season 14.
