Famous Islamic scholar, Maulana Tariq Jameel is once again in the news. A journalist recently accused him of shaking hands with a girl. However, Maulana Tariq on his official Twitter handle denied the accusation telling that he has helped many transgenders, and called it slander.

Earlier, journalist Azaz Syed shared a video on Twitter yesterday, which showed Maulana Tariq shaking hands with a girl. Later, it was revealed that she was not a girl but a transgender.
Azaz wrote in his tweet, “I have no objection to Maulvi Tariq Jameel shaking hands with this girl. The only objection is that the work that this maulvi preaches is opposite to his actions. People should know the true nature of such characters and avoid following them.”
Moreover, the reports on social media also maintain that the transgender became a practicing Muslim after meeting Maulana Tariq. People on Twitter also criticized the journalist for accusing Maulana Tariq without any investigation.
Maulana Tariq in his tweet said, “By the grace of Allah, hundreds of transgender have left their profession at my invitation and become righteous. Without investigating Azaz tweeted the video of me shaking hands with a girl, which is slander. Transgenders came to meet me on Raiwand and now all are engaged in the work of preaching.”
Syed has now deleted his tweet. He later realized his mistake and tweeted that he misunderstood Maulana Tariq and also apologized to him and appreciated that he has helped many transgenders.

Controversies and Maulana Tariq
Maulana Tariq has remained at the forefront of controversies ever since he started speaking against media, liberals, and those who ignite the fire of sectarian violence. He is famous for his ‘love for all and hate for none’ motto. Certain segments, such as certain media persons and orthodox religious clerics. have become critics of Maulana Tariq.
Maulana Tariq Jameel’s life teaches us to preach love against hatred. He disapproves of sectarian violence and may this became his crime. As mentioned earlier, this is not the first time that people slandered the prestigious scholar. Earlier, Maulana Tariq created a debate on social media after his speech irked some media persons and liberal feminists.
