We are not, people in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) are saying! Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML)’s Maryam Nawaz allegedly tweeted a photoshopped picture of her father Nawaz. And, now Twitter is enjoying a meme game.
Maryam’s timeline has no such picture but Special Assistant to the PM on Political Information Dr. Shahbaz Gill has an alleged screenshot. He shared a screenshot of what appears to be a tweet by Maryam. It’s a combo photo of her and Nawaz.
Maryam is leading the party’s election campaign in Azad Kashmir. In the picture, she is standing at a scenic spot in Keran, Neelam Valley. Meanwhile, the picture on the right shows her father Nawaz standing at the same exact spot. He is in the UK since November 2019. The tweet reads: “Ties with Kashmir are very old”.
Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also jumped into the conversation on Twitter, calling Maryam “a fake princess”.
Maryam’s Twitter profile on Monday morning had only one tweet with her pictures.
The ‘photoshopped’ Nawaz & the meme game!
Here’s how Twitter played with Nawaz’s alleged photoshopped picture and send him to the wildest places they could imagine in their heads. Meanwhile, ‘photoshop wala leader [photoshopped leader]’ is also trending on Twitter.
If true, this is quite embarrassing for Maryam and company. This is not the first time when she has put herself and her father in an awkward position.
In 2017, Pakistanis were having a good laugh after ‘Calibri’ font becomes the center of the Panama Leaks fiasco, thanks to her. In 2019, Maryam embarrassed herself again by calling the PML-N government incompetent. LOL!
