A young woman has voiced outrage after discovering and confronting a man who was taking numerous pictures of her and her friends secretly in a park in Lahore without their permission.
A group of young ladies was minding their own business and hanging out when they saw a creep clicking them. Taking to Twitter, a user named Leena Ghani shared the incident that happened a few weeks ago at Jam-e-Shirin Park in Lahore. “This is not an isolated event; this violence occurs every day; you will witness this one because there is a video,” she wrote.
As the women, Leena and her friends confronted the man for secretly taking pictures in a park in Lahore, he not only began to aggressively yell at them but also hurled abuses.
“We knew we were bound to attract unwanted attention, so we did what most women do: we ignored it,” Leena continued. “However, one very keen observer decided to take pictures; at this point, I intervened and asked him to leave. He refused and within a few seconds the situation escalated badly.”

Leena explains that she was not able to record the entire scenario as the man pushed her and snatched away her phone after she told him to leave. “No one was seriously hurt except for one man’s ego, which was destroyed to bits by the end.”
“This kind of rage is not unfamiliar to any of us. The cold dark piercing eyes, blank and void,” she further added. “A scrunched up face foaming at the mouth—incoherent speech and an out-of-control tongue. I have experienced this anger, the sort that has no return. And it always comes from men.”
Yes, all men
Leena urges all men reading her thread to take it personally. “I invite all men to feel disgusted, feel shame, and a collective sense of deep embarrassment. I urge all men to identify with this man abusing women; he is not the other,” she emphasizes. “[…] he is you. The you patriarchy created.”
In addition, she stresses, “You are the problem if you are silent if you don’t want to resist and revolt. […] When we say “Yes All Men” we mean every man because we know the anger that men have carried as their generational legacy, tradition and culture lives inside of them and can show its ugly face at any moment. And we have carried the effects of their anger as our generational trauma.”
Given the prominence of unsolicited photography and the covert filming of women in public places in contemporary Internet culture, it is clear that men feel entitled to violate women’s privacy for their own pleasure. In fact, this is not an isolated incident.
Last year, police arrested a man in Gujranwala for filming a woman in a trial room and blackmailing her. There have been tons of incidents of a hidden camera in many famous retail stores.
