Do you ever wish you could change the view from your bedroom window? Well, one lucky woman can do just that! Yup. The man builds a rotating house that rotates 360 degrees after she complained about the view.

The home is located in Bosnia, a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. The man spent six years constructing the spinning home so his wife can watch the sunrise one minute and passers-by the next.

“I got tired of her complaints and frequent refurbishing of our family house and I said: ‘I’ll build you a rotating house so you can spin it as you wish’,” said the 72-year-old.

“After I reached an advanced age and after my children took over the family business, I finally had enough time to task myself with granting my wife her wish to be able to change the position of rooms in her house whenever she wants.”

Interestingly, the home spins around a seven-meter axis using electric motors and the wheels of an old military transport vehicle. It offers views of cornfields and farmland — or forests and the river — at whatever speed they desire.

“The house can make a full circle for 24 hours when it’s at the slowest speed, while at the fastest spinning it can make a full circle in 22 seconds,” he said. Inspiration came from Serbian-American inventors Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin, he added.

It took the man six years to finish the project, except time off for a hospital stay due to a heart condition. “I asked doctors to try to prolong [my life] for at least a year because I have this project in my head, and nobody will know how to complete it,” he said.

Prior to their current home, the couple had a typical house where they raised their three children.

However, the wife wanted their bedrooms to face the sun, but that meant their living room faced away from the street and they couldn’t see people approaching the front yard. So he did some major remodeling that involved knocking down walls.

“I’ve got tired of her complaints and frequent refurbishing of our family house and I said: I’ll build you a rotating house so you can spin it as you wish,” Kusic said.

Vojin Kusic built the house for his wife, Ljubica, who expressed a desire for varied views without switching rooms. Now she gets just that.

She can, for example, sit in the same chair and gaze at the front yard or the backyard, depending on her mood. How cool is that!
