Drug culture in Pakistan has been on the rise lately, cases and significance of some drugs have entered the academic peripheral of the country. Students of one of Pakistan’s top engineering university have been smuggling a hallucination inducing drug known as LSD into the country and selling them to all major cities and universities.
According to an inside source of the university, and one of the graduates who was once involved in the shenanigans, one of the nation’s leading engineering university has been serving as the source and safe-haven of a dangerous hallucinogenic drug known as the Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD).

LSD tabs serve as the drug of choice for university students around the world. The drug is said to induce hallucinations and alter the senses, bringing the consumer in a parallel phase of thinking and seeing things. The tabs are sold all across Europe, in different names and types; Fairy, Sunshine, Microdot, Dragon, Disneyland and others.
According to the source, the students started off as ordering LSD online through Bitcoin, an online currency system where tracking of financial records is not possible. The alternate method of online purchase of LSD was through Skrill, a famous online banking system, where financial records or tracking is not possible.

Once the students got hold of the drugs, through the online purchase, they would sell it to their friends and hookups in leading cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Abbotabad, and Hyderabad.
“LSD is not a very common drug and people in Pakistan don’t really know about it. I bet you hand a tab to 10 different people and 9 would not know anything about what they are holding, let alone think it can be consumed,” the source said.
“So it is very easy to get away with it in the name of a puzzle or a toy for children.”

Loopholes in the system and modern day transaction methods have altered the way people think and fulfill their wishes. Not once did the charade of importing in LSD get exposed, not even to the university. The students carried out their hustling system for a good 2-3 years before being graduated with honors and laurels.
It is time, that the screw around drug culture in universities is tightened. The recent overdose death in LUMS, as a result of excessive heroine, raises a thousand alarms on the check and balance inside dormitories of universities and student activity in hostels is monitored.
