Local Holiday Declared in Lahore Ahead of Foreign Dignitaries Visit

The Punjab government announced a local holiday on April 23 in Lahore ahead of the visit of foreign dignitaries, including Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi. This decision aims to prevent inconvenience to the public during the official visit from April 22 to April 24. Similarly, the Sindh government declared a public holiday for Karachi on the same day.

The holiday applies only to Lahore district and its subordinate offices, excluding the Punjab Civil Secretariat and regional offices. President Raisi, during his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, emphasized increasing bilateral trade volume to $10 billion, marking the first head of state visit since the February 8 general elections.
