Lailatul Qadr (Shab-e-Qadr) in Islam is considered to be the most sacred of all nights in terms of Divine Graciousness and Benignity. Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“We have indeed revealed this (message) in the Night of Power. And what will explain to thee what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. It is narrated by Abu Huraira that Prophet (PBUH) said,
“Anyone who stays awake for the Night Of Power with belief and for the pleasure of Allah, all his previous sins will be forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
It has also been reported by Hazrat Ayesha (RA), the wife of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH):
“I asked the Messenger Of Allah if I knew which night was the Night of Power and what Prayer I should say during that night? He said to me: Say: “O Allah! You are forgiving and you love forgiveness, so you too forgive me.””

The Associated Routine
As on the other days of Ramadan Mubarak, the fasting Muslims abstain from eating, drinking or indulging in sexual relations during the daylight hours on Lailatul Qadr. They do make an extra effort to pray for forgiveness and recite the Holy Quran during the last 10 days of Ramadan in 2022. This is viewed as a period when prayers are answered and blessings are plentiful. Good and noble deeds are also performed during this time, as it is a night of pardon. Recite the Holy Quran
During the month of Ramadan, many of us tend to recite the Holy Quran without knowing what it is we are actually reading. We should take some time out to comprehend the true meaning of the Holy Book.
Make Dua’s (Supplications)
It is said that you may ask Allah Almighty for whatever legitimate you wish for on this night. In doing so, do not forget to make as much Dua’s as possible for others and seek penitence as much as possible to Allah for your sins on this night.
Perform I’tikaaf
I’tikaaf is the act of performing continuous prayer and Zikr (devotional prayers for remembrance of Allah) at the mosque for the last ten days of Ramzan, without leaving. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to spend the final ten days of this holy month in I’tikaaf at the mosque.

Do Ibaadah (Worship)
If you cannot perform I’tikaaf during the last ten nights it is strongly recommended to spend the actual night of Lailatul Qadr in Ibaadah (Shab e Qadr ki ibadat), at the mosque. You should be reciting dua’s and seeking repentance as much possible. As mentioned above, reciting the Holy Quran and supplications are recommended, along with reciting tasbih prayers and the recommended amaal (virtuous deeds) for Lailatul Qadr during the course of the night.
Donate As Charity
The act of giving is one that is greatly rewarded by Allah Almighty and is greatly encouraged during the holy month of Ramzan. Whether you choose to help someone in need by way of Zakat (alms) or Sadqa-e-Jaariya (perpetual divine reward), make sure you give as much as possible on this auspicious night.
Unite
The intention of Ramadan is to bring peace and unity to Islam. So, ensure you spend as much time as possible praying and worshiping with your loved ones. You may visit the mosque with your family and friends, have your Sehri and Iftaar with them and pray alongside each other, too.
