Kim Kardashian and rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) aired their dirty laundry on Instagram Friday night. The estranged couple and co-parents to their four children expressed differences over how to parent, especially during a divorce that is proving to be “difficult” for their children.
It all started when Ye expressed extreme dissatisfaction (the man typed in all caps) with his oldest daughter North being on TikTok.
“Since this is my first divorce I need to know what I should do about my daughter being put on TikTok against my will?” he asked rather snidely on Instagram.
Soon after, Kardashian responded on her Instagram story, expressing her own concerns about Ye after their separation. “Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she penned down.
“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness.”
“Divorce is difficult enough for our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all,” she continued.
Kardashian expressed her desire for a “healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship” between her and Ye and wished to handle “all matters regarding our children privately”. She also hoped for Ye to resolve matters by “finally” responding to “the third attorney he has had in the last year”.
Ye questions her statement
Ye replied to his estranged wife’s take and wrote, “What do you mean by [the] main provider? America saw you try to kidnap my daughter on her birthday by not providing the address.”
“You put security on me inside of the house to play with my son then accused me of stealing,” he added. “I had to take a drug test after Chicago’s party cause you accused me of being on drugs. Tracy Romulus stop manipulating Kim to be this way.”
Ye also posted a screenshot of TikTok’s official policy on the use of the app by children below 13 years of age. North, born in 2013, is currently eight years old.
Both Kardashian and Ye have been in the public eye for their relationships after going their separate ways.
Kardashian filed for divorce after 6.5 years of marriage in 2021. The former celebrity couple has four children together; North West, Chicago West, Psalm West, and Saint West.
