Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has tested positive for coronavirus.  Abbasi, who is on bail in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) case, has quarantined himself at home after contracting the virus.

More and more people are becoming a victim of coronavirus every day worldwide and in Pakistan. May it be the political world, entertainment industry, or the common people, it is becoming difficult to tackle the virus.

Party President Shehbaz Sharif is saddened at the news. “Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a party asset. May Allah grants him health soon,” he said in his statement on Twitter.

Earlier, PPP MPA Sharjeel Memon and Minister of State for Narcotics Shehryar Afridi also tested positive for the virus.

Pakistani politicians including ANP’s Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Sindh education minister Saeed Ghani, and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser had tested positive for coronavirus. They all went into self-isolation and recovered.

On the other hand, COVID-19 cases in Pakistan have passed one lac mark as 103,671 individuals have been affected by the pandemic.
